Sapling Spirits, a climate-positive spirits brand, organised the “Regenerative Retreat” in Puglia, a two-day event (3rd and 4th November) that brought together seventeen Italian and British journalists to experience the brand's regenerative philosophy. During their stay at Masseria Secolario, participants planted 50 trees, harvested 100 wild ingredients, prepared 300 cocktails and made new friends.
The retreat illustrated Sapling's three pillars:
Sapling produces its spirits using organic winter wheat, which gives the product a natural smoothness, described as “refined by nature”. Puglia was chosen for its symbolic value: the region has been affected by Xylella, and Sapling wants to support local farmers by planting resistant trees and diversifying the landscape. The project involves planting a total of 50,000 trees. The brand promotes an approach called “casually conscious” — sustainability experienced with lightness and pleasure, without sacrifice for the consumer. Each Sapling cocktail thus becomes a joyful and regenerative gesture, demonstrating that quality and ethics can coexist.
The retreat days were punctuated by moments of conviviality, local cuisine and mixology, with a serene rhythm rooted in nature. Sapling proposes a new idea of conscious luxury: time, nature and authentic connection, far from the frenetic pace of everyday life. In this way, “drinking responsibly” takes on a new meaning — not only moderation, but also regeneration and a positive impact on the planet.
